ReScene is a radical grassroots collaboration between production designers, construction coordinators, local businesses, and industry organizations working in film and television across the Greater Toronto Area.

This initiative was sparked after the 2023 Sustainable Production Forum in Toronto, following the release of Ontario Green Screen’s report, Advancing Waste Management Practices in Ontario’s Film and Television Industry. While many in the local industry had long been concerned about material waste, the report gave the push needed to finally take action.

As we work toward a more sustainable and resilient Film & TV industry, adopting circular design principles gives us a real opportunity to reduce waste, conserve resources, and support local economic growth.

The goal of ReScene is simple:
To get material reuse information directly into the hands of productions — cutting through the phone tree, saving you time, and helping you plan better.
